Cuestiones filosóficas al investigar sobre maternidad y discapacidad: desafiando la gravedad

Abstract

[Español] Este ensayo propone una reflexión filosófica sobre cómo investigar la maternidad en mujeres con discapacidad desde un enfoque crítico y transformador. A partir de una revisión de nociones como dignidad, otredad e injusticia epistémica, se analizan los límites que han condicionado su exclusión como sujetas morales y reproductivas en el ámbito académico. En respuesta, se plantea la justicia reproductiva como un marco analítico que articula condiciones materiales, simbólicas y políticas, permitiendo tensionar tanto los enfoques biomédicos como las omisiones del feminismo hegemónico. Con la intención de contribuir al fortalecimiento de la producción académica en este campo, se abordan finalmente las implicaciones filosóficas y metodológicas de asumir dicho marco en la investigación sobre maternidad y discapacidad, destacando la necesidad de reconocer saberes situados, revisar los fines de la investigación y desafiar activamente los marcos interpretativos dominantes.

[English] This essay offers a philosophical reflection on how to investigate motherhood in women with disabilities from a critical and transformative approach. Drawing on a review of concepts such as dignity, otherness, and epistemic injustice, it analyzes the limits that have historically conditioned their exclusion as moral and reproductive subjects within academic discourse. In response, reproductive justice is proposed as an analytical framework that articulates material, symbolic, and political conditions, allowing for a critique of both biomedical approaches and the omissions of hegemonic feminism. With the aim of contributing to the strengthening of academic production in this field, the essay finally addresses the philosophical and methodological implications of adopting this framework in research on motherhood and disability, emphasizing the need to recognize situated knowledges, reconsider the aims of research, and actively challenge dominant interpretive frameworks.
